replacement seal for Nissan thermos?

I'm hoping someone who trucks their tea or coffee about in a thermos can help me.

I've had a Nissan Thermos for years and it's become impossible to get the stains out of the seal. Other than that, it still keeps my coffee drinkable in the morning.

Is it even possible to get a replacement for the seal any more? I could have sworn I've seen such things, but I've searched the Internet and even the real world with no luck.

Does the discoloration of the seal really matter? As long as you wash it, it's not really dirty, just darkened. Some tea drinkers cultivate the darkening of precious asian tea pots, never considering removing this patina with harsh cleaning.

A good scrub and soak seems to clean the stainless part of the thermos, but no matter what I do, the seal still has that old coffee smell. It is rubber after all. I just think it's time to replace it.
