Bastille Day Finds

My wife and I went out for Bastille Day dinner last night. On the way back to the Metro, we walked by a small DC liquor shop in and stopped in on a whim.

The first find was a single bottle of 1982 Armagnac Domaine de Saint-Lannes Tenareze. Ding! Has anyone tasted this?

The second find was a bottle of Wasmund's pot stilled Single Malt Whisky, non chill filtered, 48% abv, produced by Copper Fox Distillery in Sperryville, VA.: "naturally flavored and colored with toasted Applewood, Cherrywood, and Oak." $28. Ding!

The third find was a bottle of Wasmund's Single Grain Whisky, $17. Ding!

So we now have two sources of at least pseudo-Scotch whisky in Virginia: Wasmund's and Eades (whose Double Malt of Ben Nevis and Clynelish I've posted about previously, and who are now in production of their own).

Tasting delayed until this weekend for the sake of our employers...and our jobs.

8;)
