Urk. My great (or great, great, I'm never quite sure) uncle was the head Cooper at the Kilmarnock site in the years before WWII, and my father's side of the family hails from there.
I really hope the politicians can reverse this.
Thanks for the link.

Simple fix, CHANGE the law from 'produced' to 'produced AND bottled'.

This year the SWA are proposing new laws about SMW. I hope the Scottish Parliament will ammend them. Mind you there are lobbyists from the "Big Boys`in the ranks of the Scotch Whisky Association. Hopefully it will get fixed indeed. Diageo do own some of Scotland´s best whisky products, but are bitter businessmen.
Peace, Jock
I wonder how pure it will remain it it is to travel over to one of these countries in bulk.

Just the perception that it COULD be different would be enough do screw things up.

One of the reasons it is so hard to source sherry barrels is the fact that in 1976 Spain made it law that to be called Sherry, the wine must be produced, fermented, matured and bottled in Spain. Scotland should do the same with Scotch.

Jock
i hate to tell you but knob creek is better than 95% of all scotch.......n cheaper id guess.
