Are you sure about the age? I don't know a 10yo, but there's a 12yo which I've not tried and a standard (unaged) expression which I have. I don't keep tasting notes, but I thought it was unexceptional. Out of the 50 or so single malts I've tried it's pretty well bottom of my list - a bit rough on the palate, not very complex, uninspiring finish. But that probably has something to do with the fact that it's matured in Chardonnay casks and I'm not keen on Chardonnay. It's one of the cheapest single malts in the UK and, I think, fairly priced. That's just my (inexpert) opinion and others may rate it higher.

I have a 12 y.o. Glen Moray with the subtitle 'Mellowed in wine barrels'. It is matured in Chenin Blanc white wine barrels. This may sound great, but it is indeed a bit disappointing. It has a funny taste somewhere in the middle, but that taste faints quickly. The finish is quite long, but unfortunately not very pleasant. 'The chosen gift for the favoured few', it also says on the bottle. I disagree with that. It's only 22 euros a bottle, but for even a little less then that money some of the expressions of the cheap Signatory series are a better choise. I will not buy another bottle of this Glen Moray. It's still 90% full, so it might last me a lifetime... or till my next birthday, when it might end in a luxurious mixture that will amaze my guests...

Maybe try filling the other 10% of the bottle with some cheap Signatory Islay--it might just stomp out that Chenin Blanc.
