Glen Ranoch

My wife just picked up a bottle of Glen Ranoch (not to be confused with Glenronach) from an Amsterdam duty-free shop. Anybody try this Highland Single Malt? It does have any age printd on the bottle. I haven't opened it yet, but am curious to know if anybody has tried this one. Any tasting notes?

I think I may have seen this in Aldi????????

I wouldn't automatically downgrade Aldi products. They have initiated a consumer movement in Germany away from glamour brand names, because many Germans are realizing that the products at Aldi can be every bit as good as what you pay more for bigger name articles. That said, many bigger name malts aren't very interesting either.

I'd have thought it far too common for your tastes. Suggest you stick to Bolli and caviar.

"Glen Ranoch" is going to be a generic bottling - Rannoch is the "real" spelling! I don't buy Aldi's whisky, but Lidl's vatted malt, Glen Orchy, @GBP9.99 is very easily drinkable!
