I have yet to hear from anyone on the group about this year's event. Anyone? Anything? Serge... did you make it back to France with your latest acquisitions in hand luggage this time around...? ;o)

PS: If anyone has visited Bruichladdich during the festival or since, could you please post your notes on the two Valinchs they are offering?

Hi Johanna, I prefered to fly to Speyside with the malt maniacs this year... As for my acquisitions (yes, they had some Springer 12yo 100 proof European version left at Cadenhead's - and not only minis), I did ship them to my place through the Royal Mail. Too bad for Heathrow's glug-club (f**k'em - oops, sorry), I'll never, ever put some bottles in my luggage again.

As for Bruichladdich, I didn't taste the valinches, but I could taste the brand new 12yo, the new Legacy, the Murmac Heartland series, the whole Mission two range etc. at Vinexpo. The report will be published on maltmadness.com. I'll email you a "secret" link offlist, where you can have a first look at my notes. Santé

Thanks Serge...

The French... they really are romantic... thank you, I'm blushing...

Et bien à vous, Johanna

I filled and purchased a 500 mL bottle of one of the valinches commemorating their porcine mascot, Bruichladdich Babe. The whisky is heavenly, really superb. It's a bit like Abunadh, only many times more delicious. A huge sherry cask was available to those who purchased the empty bottle for 55 pounds.
