Lagavulin in France ...

Hello, all. I posted this information from France over a week ago, but don't see it in my home news feed, so am posting it again.

We just returned last night from three weeks touring France, and found the distillery bottling of Lagavulin 16 to be readily available in every one of the many wine/whisky shops we visited all over France -- Dijon, Lyon, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Perpignan, Carrisone, Cahors, Bordeaux, Cognac, Limoges, Orleans, and Paris. The price was generally

35-38 Euros outside Paris.

We also found various Glenfarclas bottlings, including the Sherry-finished Maison du Whisky bottling (explicitly so-stated on the label), available at some of these stores -- apparently Maison du Whisky has associated outlets in other large cities. Vintages ranged from 1990 to 1992, and the prices were much lower than the 80 Euros quoted in this group at MdW itself, ranging from 54 to 62 Euros.

Regards, Larry
