Springbank 10 in NC

Just back from the local NC ABC store with a bottle of Springbank 10. Never thought to see this in a state-controlled store. Wow!

Also got several bottles of the New and Improved Highland Park 12 which recaptures HP's smoky honey taste of years ago.

Praise be.

Interesting about the HP. I got a bottle about 7 years ago and it was really nice, then I got another about 3 years ago and I wasnt that impressed.

Exactly!! But the newly repackaged HP tastes, to me, much like the older HP. Very nice. If you find it in the new tin can, give it a try.

I've seen the Springbank 10 in both the 46% and also in Cask strength on a trip this weekend. I also picked up a bottle of the Highland Park 12 (43%) - box, which seems to be plentiful in my area of the states. Lovely drams, all 3.

Was the HP the older, square cardboard box or the brand new metal round tin? I find the whisky in the new tin to be much better than the whisky in the square box, and more like the whisky in the older round cardboard tube. And I do mean I prefer the Malt, not the box.

Black box. I've not tried the round tube, but I'll buy another in a heartbeat. I've seen it in several locations here in the states. No tubes to be found, but I'll keep looking.

Darn! Some people have all the luck. I have six ABC stores within 5 miles of me and they carry about three or four SMSW's the rest are blends. Enjoy!!!
