that is the other side of FL from me.

Anyone near there want to pick one / 2 up for me?

also, what size were they- minis or 750 ?

Thanks

Yes it is. Sort of. I just had a friend come back from overseas and she brought me a liter back from Greece. It has the original black label. In the States, you can find Vat 69 "Gold", which of course, has a gold label. According to the following site:

"British VAT 69 Blended Scotch Whisky contains around 35 percent malt, export VAT 69 contains slightly less."

I would assume, based on the labels, and the fact that you cannot get the black label in the States, that the black label is the British (or European) version and the gold label is the "export".

I have not yet purchased the "gold", although I will once I've gone through this bottle of black, so I don't yet have any personal knowledge of the difference in taste, if any.

So, to answer your question, yes, you can still get Vat 69 in the States, but whether you're getting a slightly different blend, I do not know. If you cannot get it in your area, I've seen mail order liquor stores that carry it. They show the black label in the pictures, but I've called/emailed some of them and verified that it is indeed the gold label that they carry. Here's one:

hmm- good info- it was the black label that I hoped to get... RK

I can send you a bottle if you like from the Netherlands, but I have no idea in the costs and/or laws involved.

Kind regards,
