I think one of the local whisky purveyors has the IoJ 10 YO. I really like the IoJ Superstition. It's my idea of well balanced whisky. But what do I know?

Yes. Also, (most*) Americans use -key and Canadians use -ky.
*Except, as noted elsewhere, would-be-snobs like Maker's Mark. :-)cheers,

Will, Many distillers' web sites have a members only section. Some are free and others require a small subscription. These sections give you access to "extras that may include special bottlings, apparel, merchandise, etc. You don't have to be anything to join.
Jeff, I realize you don't have to be anything. I was half-kidding. I just thought that it was putting on airs a bit to have a members only section.
I actually think it said something like, "by invitation only". It is just funny that this whisky -- while a tasty drink -- finds that it wants to put on class affectations.
They used to have advertising that said something like, "if it tastes expensive, it is expensive" or something like that. Gag.
Okay, okay, so I should be effected by the marketing but the truth is the marketing does sort of set the tone for a product. What works for me is something to the effect of, "we are hardworking, earnest whisky makers and have been doing this for generations. We strive, as always, to make the best dram possible."
Now there is some marketing that appeals to me. :-)

Well, I think Maker's got it right if they used 'whisky'. :-)
Why waste an 'e'?
Cheers to Maker's.

That's a great price for Aberlour 10. Aberlour 10 and Bowmore Legend (NAS) are my two top choices for inexpensive single malts.
Good points!
Well, I just got back from a Trader Joe's run and I picked up a bottle of 10 YO Macallans for $19.99. Excellent price.
Now, as we speak, I am enjoying a wee dram (without ice as you all advised). After this dram I will have a second and -- as an experiment -- I'm going to add a drop of water and taste the difference.
Taking a moment's reflection, William Anderson mused: | | I like scotch better so I went with their spelling out of respect for | scotch whisky! :-)
Similarly, for me, scotch is "whisky" ... everything else is "whiskey" ... ;-)
