Many people, including the owners, consider Hureau the ultimate expression of the appellation. The sometimes annoying hubris aside, there is some justification for the claim.
This 03 is full of herbs and licorice, with pleasant round bramble fruit and a nice balance of acid. But not enough to go the long haul, just as one might expect from this difficult year. Still, fine Cabernet Franc typicity and a successful if not classic effort. A good buy at 10 EU.
