1999 Chateau d'Aigilhe Cotes de Castillon

Drank with friends last night after dinner with a bit of aged Dubliner Cheddar. This is a Neipperg wine of La Mondotte/Clos d'Oratoire/Canon La Gaffiere fame. I believe I paid less than $20 for the wine and I beleive that the 2005 was just released at $30-$35. The wine is inky black in the glass. Nose of black raspberry, black olives, smoke and black coffee. Medium heavy bodied the wine has a nice mouthfeel and a fair amount of fruit. Plenty of black fruits, cassis, and a touch of raisin on the palate. Soft plush tannins and a bit of age just beginning to show. "B"

Aiguilhe is quite modern, but I generally like it. Thanks for update.
