2001 CdP "Rubis" P. Lesec

I did some checking Dale wasn't wowed by the Lesec 2001 CdR but wondered if anyone had any comments on this one. I can pick up a couple of bottles on closeout but why buy if it's not worth @$18?

Comments on CT seem mostly positive, but I don't know the tasters so can't really correlate:

My lukewarm comments on the CdR were about value, I'd probably try the CdP at $18 if I was confident re storage.

thanks Dale, I bought one but hesitate opening it just to know if I want to buy three more. August in Florida is not the time for drinking big reds.

Joseph, I hate to be the curmudgeon of this discussion (actually, I revel in my curmedugeonly tendencies if truth be known) but Patrick Lesec is known for the oaky wines he produces. From all of your posts here, I dare say that oaky CdP is not what you look for, so I would be prepared to open a backup wine should this one prove not to be to your tastes.

Hoo boy rain on my parade, don't you just feel swell. Actually I really appreciate the commnet, it is exactly what you don't always get from promises of 91 point ratings (though I must admit that 90+points has in the past often meant furniture!)

I think I will pass on the others and be content with my $7 find a 2003 Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba "Garabei" bottled by (note not produced, oh well it is $7) Abrigo Giovanni. It was light and fruity. a bit acidic on the finish in a sharp way but with a piece of chees (Reggiano) before dinner and hamburger well I could have done worse.

There you go again, Dale, confusing the discussion with FACTS! I really don't know what we're going to do about this annoying tendency of yours to substitute information for innuendo, insinuation and blind prejudice.
