Bill Great notes. Pichon 82 I have been fortunate to have on many occasions, it is simply , IMHO, perfect claret. Not big and brash, a gustatory delight. We have a few left.

BTW, BC wines at the tasting tonight, I will post either tonight or on the morrow.

I enjoyed my first taste of an '82 Pichon Lalande last week. Sad to say that it was pulled out of someone's briefcase only after the rest of the evenings wines had been completed. Though I double decanted before offering it up at the request of the host, I am ashamed to have consumed such a glorious bottle in a matter of mere moments when something much less divine would have sufficed. The preceding wines were also amazing and included: '02 Peter Michael Belle Cote, '97 Kistler Russian River Pinot, '01 JJ Prum WS Spatlese, and a '90 Yquem. If the '82 Lalande was anywhere near my price range I wouldn't hesitate to grab it in an instance. Lucky for those that have them already and can pull them from their briefcase at the end of an evening!
