Any thoughts on 2002 Delicato wines?

A local shop has their wines on sale for $4.99 (US) a bottle before the 10% case discount. I have liked them in the past, but wanted to get other peoples impressions. I believe the non-sale price here is around $5.99-6.99 a bottle depending on the store.

I just tried the 3L box version of the Shiraz and it is VERY good. the price worked out to ~$3.75 a bottle. In fact I have a glass in front of me :) definitely a wine worth drinking

I picked up a couple bottles of the Shiraz last weekend to fill out a case. I opened one, and though it was nothing super special, it was very good for the price. I've had a few of their wines in the past, but the 2001 and the 2002 Shiraz has been their best efforts, at least for me.

At the price, you won't be diasppointed.

I tried the 2002 Delicato Shiraz ($4.99/bottle US) a couple of months ago. As I recall it was very good for the price. If the 3-liter boxes were available in my area I would certainly check them out.

BTW: Delicato also makes Clay Station wines.

IMO, the Delicato Shiraz is a consistent winner and a great bargain even at the regular price. I have no experience with the rest of their line.

Last night I had a Delicato 'Marin Ridge' Lodi Malbec 2002. I assume this is a rebadged Clay Station Malbec but their site only mentions the 2001. Anyway, good fruit, excellent tannins, a bit sweet but went well with semi-soft cheeses, £10 GBP.
