Dinner last night at a local restaurant on Marco Island called Verdi's. Decent food but very weak wine list. We started with a glass of 2007 Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay RRR for $10/glass. Some lemony notes, no raging oaky flavors but a bit dilute a weak (C). I then opted for a bottle of 2006 Foley Estates Santa Rita Hills Rancho Santa Rosa Pinot Noir. Pale red in the glass with faint tea and floral notes on the nose. Not much on the palate except for a bit of herb and cola with a ton of oak. Yuck! "C-" Nothing charming or distinctive about this wine and it tasted more like $6.00 than $45.
