Bordeau Vintages Price spiral.

I've definitely seen major price increases, though maybe not to the extent you're talking in UK (those 2005 prices for '96 Mouton seem low for US). With the 2005 prices, a lot of people said they'd backfill vintages. Excellent vintages with bottle age on them like 1996 Medocs were same price as futures! But now that demand has really driven up prices. If trend continues, only Bordeaux I'll be drinking are those I already own!

I think collectible wines are going up in almost every category. Not so up on Califiornia, but mature Piedmont (anything 1990 or before from good vintages) prices have increased even more than Bordeaux.
