TN: Kunin 2004 Paso Robles Zin

Oct 09, 2006 1 Replies

Having suffered another anonymous French red last night - for whatever reason, while my spoken French is OK, my brain doesn't store Chateaux - I felt entitles to post another favourable TN :). So: this was I think infanticide, and I may try to track down a few bottles and store for 5 years or so, but great Zin: jammy without being brutal, balanced by some tannin and a little (slightly too little) acid; undeveloped and lacking in the complexity that I think will emerge, but still elegant. B+ right now, expected A in future. $20ish at Stew Leonard's in Yonkers.

[I don't, still, have a local wine store that I really like. Does anyone knowledgeable about CT - Jose? - have a recommendation for the New Haven/Stratford area?]

I'l check out, probably going to Stew's grocery this week. No idea re stores that far east. CT is a tough shopping area, though Franco's in New Canaan sometimes has interesting stuff.
