It's an IGT which can be both red and white, the main producer is Conte di Salaparuta and I don't know if there's someone else doing that wine, maybe it's a trademark of that winery. It usually sells for 5 to 7 euros, based on where you find it, and usually it's not very interesting, there are better wines for that price range. It's very common in italian shpos and supermarkets, less often you can find it in wine-shops.

That's what I meant ;-)

It is one of those wines that I compare to the classic Valpolicellas, exactly the same every year despite vintage cariability, even in a year of flooding they will turn out exactly the same thing. Granted it is easier to do in Sicily, but I wonder just HOW they do it? ;-)

IGT Sicilia

*Duca* di Salaparuta. Don't downgrade a duke to a count! ;-)
