"We're putting the band back together. We've gotta save the winery." :) So many puns, so little time.

Blues Brother, Dan Aykroyd and Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits will launch a new line of Dan Aykroyd-labeled wines in 2007. The wine will be available in two ranges, the Dan Aykroyd Signature Reserve Series of super-premium offerings and the Dan Aykroyd Discovery Series of mid-priced wines.
The first wine to be released under the Dan Aykroyd label will be his Signature Reserve VQA Niagara Peninsula Vidal Icewine 2005, which will be available in 2007.
"Canadian Icewine is known internationally for its uniqueness and excellence. Launching my premium line of wines with this Canadian icon could not be more fitting," commented Aykroyd. "I am excited to report that every bottle of Dan Aykroyd Signature Reserve VQA Vidal Icewine
2005 has been allocated for sale to our key clientele and has been fully subscribed before even being released, which is a testament to the great winemaking team at Lakeview Cellars who are working with me on this."The Dan Aykroyd Signature Reserve VQA Vidal Icewine 2005 is made from
100% Vidal grapes harvested from select vineyards in the Niagara Peninsula. Unlike most Icewines, the Aykroyd Vidal Icewine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels, which add additional complexity and subtle oak character to its floral honeyed apricot notes and mouth-filling structure.Aykroyd developed his love of fine wine while working on Saturday Night Live and the first Blues Brothers movie. Musician Steve Cropper introduced him to Bordeaux Premier Cru and other premium vintages and, ever since, he has sampled the top local wines wherever he travels.
