Hi all,
How would you explain that a bottle of Chateau Montrose 1995 that I purchased on a recent trip to Saint-Emilion had two capsules? Both were red, both read "Chateau Montrose" but they were different. Besides, the inner one did not have the tax stamp on the top, the outer one did.
I purchased the wine at a shop in Saint Emilion called "Le Comptoir des Vignobles". Wine was excellent, even if the cork smelled a bit of TCA on the outer part. Interestingly enough, the wine did not display the corked notes in any moment and it was not restrained as many slightly corked wines are.
TIA,
Santiago
