Help finding somewhere I can buy this wine please

I have recently come across a Rioja that suits my tastebuds perfectly.

I have tried unsuccessfully to try and buy it locally and also to search for it on the internet.

These are the details off the label

Rioja

Denominacion de Origen Calificada

Murice

Crianza

2001

Vina ljalba s.a

Embotellado en la propiedad Logrono - La Rioja - Espana

R.E 7123 - LO

Produce of Spain

I asked the barman of the restaurant that I had it in but he would not or could not tell me where they sourced it from.

Any help as to where in the UK or via the Internet that I could get this would be greatfully appreciated.

TIA

Brian

It's a not very good Flash site... finally I found contact information, under "Localization": snipped-for-privacy@ijalba.com

shows that, in the UK,

and

carry it, but it looks like you would have to buy a whole case...

wine-searcher.com would be the normal place to look for these things. It gives no UK merchant for the wine, and only lists one source for that particular vintage:

Not much help I guess.

Google and wine-searcher also pointed out that wines from the same producer are available from:

They might be able to help.

I am not much of a wine expert im afraid and all I can say that it was a lovely smooth berry? tasting wine. It is just one of those that once tasted often to be enjoyed ( hopefully!!!)

Thanks everyone for there help but the sites that have been suggested so far offer other wines from this company but not this one. Maybe I will have to try some of these for comparison.

Thanks again

The Swiss website I mentined has precisely the wine you tasted, and the other sites people referred to may help you trace a UK supplier. But frankly I suspect it would not be worth the effort. I am not saying it was a bad wine, but that you might not get quite the same level of enjoyment from it the 2nd time round in a different environment.

Trying other wines from the same producer might be an idea, as would trying other Riojas. I thought the Tesco Vina Mara *Crianza* Rioja was surprisingly good when I tried it a few months ago. The other Vina Mara Riojas were not so good IMO. That should be easy enough to get hold of, and is not expensive.

Or if you have a local independent wine merchant (or one of the better chains like Oddbins or Majestic), go in, tell them what you told us, and see what they can suggest. Even if you claim no expertise, you seem to know what you like, and a decent wine merchant should be able to respond to that.

Best wishes

Is there an online retailer that you are confortable buying at?

I could try to find a similar Rioja at that retailer so you can order and taste

Best,

Some wine is packaged specifically for restaurants, and is not available otherwise.

I feel comfortable buying from most online retailers as long as they have secure ordering.
