I have a couple 2001 Proprietors Selection...has anyone tried this? Would it be a good time to open one up, or leave it (and for how long)?

I have never tasted any of the wines from the tank farm that caught my fancy. There was a bit of a fuss awhile ago about one of the JT wines, so I took the trouble to try it - mediocre and you'd get better value with an $8 Spanish.
That's not to say that they won't move into the premium wine area some day - look at the good things Gallo have done - just that so far it is all hype and no performance.
