Hey! Are you pickin' on the original Ironman?

Of course, none of us would be able to understand what Ozzy is saying if he were to do a wine-show.

However, _Paranoid_ is still one of the truly 'classic' rock compositions of the 20th century. Amusing as it may be, it will still be performed and studied in the 23rd century. Right up there with Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Booker T and the MGs.

Dittos - That Black Sabbath song will always be around, as will War Pigs. I think Mother Earth (Revelation) is one of the most powerful songs he has done post-Sabbath. Of course as obvious Ozzy fans, we may be biased.

To get back on point, Ozzy drank wine often on The Osbournes, though usually in a couple of big gulps, and John Cleese was hilarious on Will & Grace last week.

Further on point, I had a 1998 Bonny Doon Old Telegram Mourvedre last night with a char-grilled heavily black peppered bone-in ribeye - what a fantastic match that was. The Telegram - first I've had of that variety by itself - the taste reminded me of Bloodhound chewing tobacco when I was a kid, with dark chocolate covered cherries. Full bodied, powerful nose of leather, dirt, and prune/raisin, inky black, and long finish.

Sounds like a hoot to me. Offstage, these folks might just be normal people with an avid interest in wine. I don't have cable tv, but it might be worth subscribing just to get the food channel.

Where was I when all of this was happening?

Amusing as it may be, it will

oh yes the 4 b's

And people laugh when I suggest Maria Muldaur was/is an underrated talent.

hmm, wouldn't Ozzy be obviously more suited to doing a show on "exotic cuisine"? (reference to bat head)

Originally part of Monty Python, then Fawlty Towers. If this doesn't ring a bell, never mind.

Well, like with all the other classics, it just happened right in front of us without really noticing.

Do you know the reference I'm making here? (Hint: Green Onions).

Just so I'm clear, I'm saying that _Paranoid_ is a classic

*composition*, though Ozzie's rendition is excellent, I'm talking about the tune itself. True art.

John Cleese and a camera crew showed up at the co-op winery I'm working out of one day while I was there. I didn't see him, but I got to talking with the crew from The Food Channel. They shot a lot of winery activities and did some interviews.

One event that particularly captured their fancy was watching pigeage performed on a bin of fermenting red must (probably either Syrah or Pinot Noir). The guy in the bin really put on a show for the camera!. Wearing only spandex briefs, he went in over his head, emerging purple from head to toe. Although there was much hilarity at the time, I don't think I'll be buying any of that winery's 2003 vintage...

The tall, wooden looking guy on Monty Python. He's the one who usually said, "and now for something completely different." He was also in "A Fish Called Wanda". He plays the archetypal Brit with the stiff upper lip.

He also did a travel series for PBS that was quite witty. Bi!!
