We stayed at the Harvest Inn a couple of years ago and found it to be nice. They have rooms with hot tubs overlooking grape vines, with a nice view of the mountains in the background.

recommendations.

My favorite is the El Bonita in St Helena, short on extra amenities like golf, tennis etc but short on $$$$. Its convenient to all of the Napa Valley. Not very romantic.

I like Rancho Caymus in Rutherford. Kind of eclectic and it has a terrific restaurant, La Tocque. Bi!!

I like this place...and it is romantic in a 1950's sort of way.

When I stayed there about 2-3 years ago it was managed by a French couple and they had great service...nice place.

Howie, I have been to napa many a time and just being there is romance. The wine..the food...the atmosphere...the view...so any where you stay will be great.

Have a great time..also

should help you as well--lodging...baloon rides over the valley...where you stay will not matter...just enjoy while there.

Meadowood is superb, but not what I'd call a get-away.

The Deer Run Inn

) is quite a bit more secluded and pretty far on the romantic side of the scale. It might be *too* secluded if you want to walk into town (you can't). You can easily drive anywhere, though.

I normally stay at the Vintage Inn or the Napa Valley Lodge, in Yountville,. when visiting the Napa Valley. Both are great places. I give the edge to the Vintage Inn. This year because of late planning I was unable to get accommodations in either of these places. I was able to find a vacancy at the Embassy Suites in Napa city and was most pleasantly surprised. Each suite has two large rooms, one equipped with a microwave oven and a refrigerator and wet bar. Included in the price was a full hot breakfast and if you were at the hotel between 530 PM and 730 PM there were complimentary cocktails. The have two pools one indoor and one outdoors. I believe the thing I enjoyed most was the center court with its beautiful decor. Pools with swans and ducks swimming by a waterfall. It was just a pleasant place to sit and talk or do nothing after a day in the vineyards. Very relaxing. We paid $152.00 a night. I consider this a bargain for eight days in June. We now plan on making this our headquarters during our yearly trip to the Napa Valley. By the way we got this price by going to the Embassy online site. They gave better prices than any of the so called discount sites.

You have to stay at the Vintage Inn in Yuntville. It's the best place I've found for the money, it's walking distance to Bouchon and the French Laundry, and the rooms are nice, spacious and romantic. Fireplaces in each one. Tricky
