Need quick advice: '93 Barolo

Found a pair of '93 Michele Chiarlo Riserva Barolos at the NH State Liquor store that were mis-tagged to as the '97 version (which is what I went there for). Got them for $30.49 apiece. What are they worth? I am anxious to open one with dinner tonight, but haven't had a wine this old before. Will there be sediment that I need to let settle first? Should I decant? How long?

Thanks

93 was a fair vintage in Piedmont IMHO better than 91/92 not up to 95/96/97s. Good 10-15 year wines when released, so they should still be holding up. Shouldn't be much sediment or tannin so fire when ready.

Thanks for the advice. I'm on the last 30 ml or so and I'm sad that it's over.

Well, I switched over to Vodka. I'll save the other for another day. For the record, the '93 was delightful, and had the same characteristics of the '97 variants that I usually drink, but lacked the fruit.
