Hi Robbie,

I stayed at these three places in August. Four/Five star all the way. Inn on the Twenty has Cave Springs Winery right there and tons of others with 30 minutes. See if they'll give you one of the suites(with own walkout to English garden) for a good price.(extremely appropriate for long overdue Romantic weekend. Dinner is included in price if I'm not mistaken.

Harbour House in Niagara on the Lake is also great. Ask for a room the faces the water. Again lots of wineries around. Just find a web site for Niagara wine tours or something like that.

Embassy Suites Fallsview is extremely good. Get a room with a king bed, jacuzzi that has doors that open up to large windows overlooking the falls(Canadian and American view if you can afford that one).

My wife just reminded me of something. (She's hovering over me so I have to type this the long way....)

Go to Shoppers Drug Mart. They have a free-standing kiosk there called "Experiences". There's several different kinds of experiences. The one for The Inn on the Twenty is under the category "Romantic". The package was identical to the one we had and it's about $60 cheaper if you go this route. The suite was beautiful that we had and we did ask if this would have been the same. In the end we had them credit us back the full amount and then gave them the number from the experiences card that we received. The reservation stayed exactly the same, so that's how I know it was definitely a deal.

Best place to stay is in Niagara-on-the-lake, right in the middle of the wine country. Stay at Almar House B&B, hosts Al and Marie-Jane are very wine friendly. Al is an amateur wine maker and will give you any help on what to see and do. snipped-for-privacy@sympatico.ca Should put you in at under $100.00 cdn with a wonderful breakfast. Dave.
