Nutritional Value of Wine

I was wondering about the nutritional value of wine. I have a publication of the department of ag (US) which lists the nutritional value of various foods. When looking at wine, it does not have any vitamin C which surprises me. Does it vary with each type of wine? I have a bottle of wine at home ( a local vintage), and it has no nutrition label.

Thanks

First off, is your name Mary or Tom? Mixed identities in your name-line.

Second: there's no nutritional value with wine: no vitamins, no minerals (except in Chablis ;-) just lots of calories from the alcohol, probably on par with soda pop. Enjoy it for what it is (a wonderful drink) and get your nutrients from food.

Sorry, the vitamin C in the grapes is consumed by the same organisms (yeast and in some cases bacteria) that ferment the grape juice into wine. Here's the nutirional breakdown for various types of wine:

As you can see, Mark S got it right in less words: calories and not much else. So, hopefully you enjoy it for its flavor enough to justify the consumption of such junk! ;-)

Protein 0.28g 0.44%

With only 227 glasses of wine per day, one can get his entire amount of government recommended protein!
