(1) A bottle of 1970 David Bruce Petite Syrah. This wine was _black_ on release, and sported 18% alcohol without any added brandy. In its youth it needed a week's aeration in the refrigerator to become approachable, and it was still a monster! Over the years, it's dropped a _ton_ of sediment and lost most of its color, but it's still a huge wine. BTW, this is a dry wine.
(2) A bottle of California "Burgundy" that was labeled in such a way that to a casual glance looked like a DRC wine. There was a lawsuit filed on behalf of the DRC over this bottling. The wine wasn't bad for the ~$3 US it sold for at the time, but it definitely isn't Burgundy!

I have a bottle of 1980 Chateau Giorgianni Blackberry Wine (one of only two in existence). It was drinking very well a few years ago. It was my brother's first winemaking effort and got me into it. He, I and another brother still make wine every year.
I also have a bottle from my grandfather marked "Wine 1945." There is only a few inches left and that is not drinking well.
