Rabbit Q

I'm shopping for a new corkscrew 'cause an arm from my over 20-year-old double-lever started flopping around and I don't think the $0.94 plastic one I got from Wal-Mart to replace it is gonna last.

My question is, how does the Rabbit work? Yesterday, I saw it in a local store and the lady demonstrated it sans wine bottle, but it seems to me that when one lifts the handle that instead of pulling the cork out of the bottle, it would only reverse the worm out of it like the opposite of when one presses the handle down to insert the worm into the cork. She wasn't able to explain why this isn't so and at $82 including stand and foil cutter, I don't want to be disappointed and have to hassle with the store's all sales final policy. Nor do I like to buy online if it's likely that I'll end up returning it. But...it's supposed to be a really good cork remover.

Thanks.

They work fine. The cork screw turns going in but is held from turning on the outward pull. To shed the cork one simply presses over the cork and pulls the cork screw out (It turns on this move for some reason.) but the bottom line is an easy cork removal (they do not handle synthetic cork well however it gets stuck on the screw.

Thanks! I forgot to ask about synthetic corks. I had asked the lady, but she'd never heard of them.
