semi-OT: Thomas Keller strikes gold in NYC

I have to say this looks pretty tempting for a special occasion (to late to book for anniversary next month). Maybe Betsy's birthday...

I wish I had a better grasp on their wine list, especially the low-end. Perhaps someone can fill us in (you know who you are!).

Yes, yes, I suppose that would be my calling... I haven't taken good look at the list at Per Se, but I bet that it is like the French Laundry in that you could call them up and they will email it to you in PDF later that day. I will check with someone about that when I manage to catch a break from my work and try a get one out to you. Though one cool thing on the low end of the scale is that the sommeliers are often pairing the inexpensive wines from Txomin with the famed "Oysters and Pearls" caviar course on the tasting menu; on the other end- our cooking Sauternes when needed (ie. Frank Bruni) is admittedly often times the 1986 Raymond Lafon! About next month Dale, the wait list does often tend to land a table...

So how in the world does anyone get through on the phone to get a reservation at the French Laundry? I've tried as many as a hundred calls.
