Some Recent Coteaux du Languedoc Acquisitions

These southwest wines are well worth a try if you can get hold of them:

o Domaine de l'Hortus, Pic St Loup, Grande Cuvée, 2005.

o Cardinal de Lucian, St Saturnin, 2004. (Available at Carrefour, Coquelles, Calais)

o Vins de St Saturnin, Vin d'une Nuit, 2004. (Available at Carrefour, Coquelles, Calais)

o Château de Rocquefeuil, Montproux, Grande Cuvée, 2005

o Domain Virgil Joly, Saturne 2004, (St Saturnin) This one will be difficult to get hold of even down there. It's one of the wines from the vigneron featured in Patrick Moon's two books "Virgil's Vineyard" and "Arrazat's Aubergines". I could only get hold of 12 bottles.

o Found at a wine merchant's in Arras: Costière de Nîmes, Siracanta, Domaine de la Cadenette

2005. Superb! Unfortunately no longer available :o(

All rouge, of course.

Excellent the few times I had the pleasure. Unfortunately, pricey.

Cheers

Not strictly the southwest.

Indeed. Pricey where? In Sweden? Everything's pricey in Sweden !

I paid 522 Euros for 36 bottles = 14.50 Euros per bottle at a wine fair in Clermont l'Hérault.
