Another question I have regards storing wine. Are there tricks or tips to storing good wine? I've noticed several references to the proper storage of wine in this news group. I live in hot damp florida and am wondering if I should store wines in the garage or in the main part of the house or what?
Thanks for any tips.

Coolest room of house even for short duration. Garage will cook your wine in a day. For serious, long term, storage issues get a wine storage unit, but for day to day watch for temp fluctuation and direct exposure to high temps and strong light.

That won't be easy to do. What about small wine coolers like a person can buy at Sears? They have one that stores 32 bottles for a bit over $200. I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to have one if I decide to keep a bottle for an extended period of time?

Duh! I just reread your post! A wine storage cabinet may be in my future. :0)

In the meantime I'd keep any wine you don't plan on drinking within a month or two in coolest part of house (is it airconditioned- never knew a FL home that wasn't). On floor (usually slightly cooler) of a closet or something.

Our house is air conditioned (I'm living with the folks right now). Right now I'm keeping it in a wine rack on the kitchen counter on the ground floor of the house. I hope to get a wine storage cooler in the near future, however. Maybe by next week. I hope the wines will hold out till then.
I have my eye on a 30-bottle dual zone cooler put out by a company named Dandy and sold at my local Best Buy. It's pictured here. It looks like a beauty! :-)

Model is the Silhouette 30-Bottle Wine Cellar with Dual Temperature Zones. I don't suppose anyone knows much about the make or model of this cooler who could give me a review on it?

Yeah, I figure I'm getting a lot of top notch stuff here lately to let it sit out on the counter and bake this summer. Plus I plan on getting other bottles as I go along. I may as well drink wine like its supposed to be drank. Plus I really like the look of this cooler. It'll look nice in the dining room. :0)
