It depends. What are the wines and for how long do you expect to store them? If it's for a short time, it matters much less than if it's for a long time.

Ideally, you want a storage facility that keeps a close to constance temp, and is pretty much free of vibations. This facility needs to shield the wine from UV light, and humidity should be somewhere between 40% & 60%. There are a lot of units that fit most apartments and offer these features. Wine Enthusiast offers several and the decor will fit most decorating schemes. The sizes and finishes vary, but you should be able to find something that fits your budget and life-style. I'd suggest that whatever you buy is much larger than you ever expect to use - like computer HDD space, one finds ways to fill it.

Otherwise, a dark, cool closet that doesn't have a heat/AC vent would probably get you by. If you have "jewels," or wish to properly age reds (or even whites), the dedicated storage unit is the way to go.

Hi, General Storage,

On their side, Cool 14 degrees Celsius. I have forgotten how to convert to F. It is about 55 -58 degrees F. I truly hope that the 1964 bottle is a red. Do you have a secure basement storage locker that is cooler than your apartment china cabinet?

i would say that since these are recent purchases you are OK but are right in seeking assistance.

I have a feeling the 1964 is probably ready to be consumed. Depends on what the 1994 wine is. It may be drinkable now or may require further aging. That is why ken asked his questions.
