On a recent trip to SoCal, Jean visited a few SB county wineries with some other chemists and came back with a few wines. Tonight, with a simple dinner of salad and spaghetti, she opened:
2006 Gainey "Limited Selection" Sauvignon Blanc nose: intense minerality, grapefruit palate: crisp, clean entry; light body, grapefruit, mineralsVery much like a middle-of-the-road Marlborough SB, this wine was very restrained for a CA rendition of the grape. Kudos to Gainey for this effort (I don't want to know the price).
