TN 2005 Allan Scott SB

Before embarking on tomorrow's journey to the wilds of Michigan for a weeklong vacation, we decided to dine out at our favorite local child-friendly restaurant. Horror of horrors, they were celebrating their "Grand Re-Opening" after a change of ownership and the family room (one of this place's bigger attractions) is now a bagel shop. Despite all this, we still had a good meal (both menu and kitchen staff are unchanged). With Jean's veal and shrimp picatta and my spinach salad with shrimp, we got:

2005 Allan Scott Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc nose: floral, tropical fruit and stones palate: crisp entry, grapefruit, tropical fruit, good acidity

A very nice example of Marlborough SB, and one that didn't show much of the herbal, grassy notes that are often present. This wine had good intensity of fruit and was utterly crisp. All in all, a very nice wine for our dinner.
