[TN] 2006 Vissoux Bojo

Feb 14, 2008 0 Replies

With a simple dinner tonight of fettucini with a roasted garlic tomato sauce, Jean opened a bottle I had recently picked up at Chambers St. Wines immediately before dinner with DaleW and others:

2006 Dom. du Vissoux (Pierre-Marie Chermette) Beaujolais "Cuvée Traditionelle" Vieilles Vignes *whew* nose: classic cranberryesque red Gamay fruit palate: juicy, tart, grapefruit, light red fruit, a bare hint of bitterness and no tannins to speak of

Not the greatest food-wine match, but a pleasent experience nonetheless. For the $15 I paid for this wine, it delivers a lot in return and is very ready for business right now (as opposed to the '05, which needed some time). This is a wine I will definitely get more of.
