TN: Bastide Blanche rose, Luneau-Papin, Sociando

With teriyaki salmon, beets, & rice, the 2019 La Bastide Blanche Bandol rose. Pale and pretty, red strawberry/raspberry fruit accented with citrus, good acids, good finish. B+

Lemon sole meuniere, leftover squash, yellow wax beans, salad, and the 2007 Luneau-Papin L d?Or Muscadet. This is really quite young tasting, sweet pear and melon, ripe with balancing acids, just a little saline on finish. Tasty but atypical, and showing less mature complexity than I hoped. B

Monday I grilled steak, squash, and corn, made a small salad, and signed onto Zoom for the

1982 Sociando-Mallet (decanted a half-hour earlier). This was a bit fresher than the last 2 bottles I?ve had, tangy acids and a ferric note, red fruit and some typical SM green. Just a touch of tannin, more left on finish than previous bottles, but still time to drink up. B/B+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
