TN Bott Geyl Pinot D'Alsace Beblenheim 2000

Binny's in Chicago has it marked down to $5.

First poured, it tastes like a good Pinot Gris or mediocre Gewuerztraminer, with the typical off-dry spice and stoniness. 10 minutes in the glass, the stone and spice fade and hints of lemon and petrol show up. Not quite as harmonious tasting as this description makes it sound, since there's a rough edge. Fairly good body and concentration. If I were in the rating business, I'd say 86 or so.

Would be a so-so buy at it's usual $13; at $5, it's a deal; especially if served with spicy fare.
