Hello, Music is ... thingy, according to Shakespeare. Tonight, we went to a concert at the local Art Hall which was free form jazz combined with art music ... dreadful. Despondent we returned hom, realising that to lift our sagging respective spirits (Xina's and mine) a bottle of some suitable potion was needed. I went into the cellar and uncovered this Bandol from the days when Mr Pascal still made good wine. [c] Dark, grenadine, not a tounch of brick. Robust sediment. [n] Starts with mineral, blackberries ... bit of flatulent cow, sweet notes of liquorice, anise, violets, tobacco ... alcohol (14.5 %) [p] Sweetness, tannines are finelimbed, yet, powerful, not the kind that comes from oak (and Mr Pascal uses little oak), fruity sweetness, withloads of length, but still a bit in the tunnel.
If, which seems unlikely, you should have sme bottles of this red Bandol, and of this vintage, save it. It will most certainly benefit by at least 5 years in the cellar, even if it is jammily yummy now ...
Cheers
Nils
