TN: poor to middling Txacoli, good Savigny

David doesn't generally drink whites, and is a fan of Jadot since our visit there, so also opened the 2007 Jadot "Les Narbantons" Savigny les Beaune 1er. Lighter and more delicate than I remembered, maybe just beginning the process of shutting down, but overall I quite enjoyed. Red and black cherry fruit, earthy, just a hint of barnyard. Does pick up steam and weight as evening progresses, fruit fills out and there is some coffee and blood orange notes. Still seems like it's holding back even after several hours, but I like. B+
Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
