AFW's own Filippo was kind enough to send me this bottle to try. In spite of the various barriers erected by international shipping it has been resting here now for a couple of months.
Nice brilliant ruby colour, with a bright nose of cherries and some herbs. In the mouth a solid cherry core with solid acidity and vanilla overtones. Good length and balance, and a good match for chicken livers with port sauce.
A fine bargain for a nice wine from the Chianti geographical region. I look forward to getting a case or so in for the cellar.
