As mentioned in another post I asked a local merchant about some value priced Oregon Pinot Noir's that display similar characteristics to the pricier ones (Domaine Drouhin Lauren).
With that...
2003 Scott Paul Cuvee Martha Pirrie Bright raspberry nose. Light body, not quite as velvty as the Drouhin, but nonethless very smooth and rich. Brambly quality to it, with a good depth to the fruit; also noted some dried sour cherry flavors. Nice and balanced with just a touch of acidity, not heavy on the tannins. I just tasted the wine after openning a couple of days ago and the fruit is still there with a more pronounced cherry flavor. This is a great wine for drinking now - well it was, just finished the last drop, time to get some more. $18 USD.Thanks,
