tn: six assorted wines

Margaret Pinotage South Africa 2019 - black raspberry color, somewhat hot nose w/raspberry and blueberry notes, flavors of sour cherry and blackberry with noticeable acidity, mildly tannic.

Sauska Furmint Tokaj 2016- golden color, peachy gasoline aroma, lightly sweet lime and pineapple flavors with a slight mineral finish.

Gnarly Head Old Vine Zinfandel Lodi 2018- opaque maroon color, typical red berry nose, full-on blackberry flavor with a touch of oak and tannin.

Cook Strait Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017- greenish appearance, gasoline and ammonia nose, lemon and honeydew on the palate, kind of different from my past experience with NZ SB.

Remy Pannier Rose' D'Anjou Loire 2018- light pink, tart and grapey nose, strawberry and raspberry flavors dominating with an off-dry finish. Not complicated but refreshing.

Stoudt's Winery Chambourcin NV- opaque purple, elderberry aroma with a dusty raspberry character, mild tannins. This comes from a local orchard that mainly produces fruit wines; I especially like their Montmorency Cherry wine, like a slice of pie in a glass. The Chambourcin hybrid is currently their lone grape wine.

Dan-O (trying to keep it interesting until I can see more hockey games!)
