TN: Sumathis, Sumathat, Sumarroca

I just sampled two whites and two reds, all of which are were under natural cork.

2004 Barton & Guestier Vouvray - pale yellow in color, light citrus aroma, tart lemon/lime flavors with a medium-length finish. A refresher for US$9.99

2002 Sumarroca Muscat Penedes - yellowish in hue, lightly grapey on the nose, dry and mild grape flavor with a slightly oakey finish. Decent, neutral food wine at US$8.99

2001 E. Guigal Cotes du Rhone - plummy red color, blackberry and tar aromas and flavors dominating with a touch of tobacco on a fairly long finish. I just HAVE to try this with a good steak. US$12.99 on sale this month.

2002 Navarro Correas Syrah Mendoza - very similar to the CdR above; plum red, with bold blackberry and tar bouquet and flavors, minus the tobacco note. US$9.99 on sale.
