Vin Santo

Has anyone had a Vin Santo they really like and can make some recommendations. I have a friend coming for the weekend who really likes it and I know nothing about this particular wine.

The ones from Trentino are less known than the Tuscan ones, and on average much better.

I recently had some of the Lungarotti. It was very good.

In my wineclub, we've just had the Vin Santo Berardenga 1993 from Fattoria di Felsina. It was absolutely brilliant, with loads of dried fruit, a deliscious honey sweetness and just enough vibrant acid to balance it. I can highly recommend it.

Good one, Anders. In addition to Felsina, some other good Chianti makers like di Ama make good vin santo.

I also like Avignonesi, but can't afford it.

Mike, will look for some Trentino examples. Dale

I checked on the Avignonesi. $125-135 per bottle if you can get it. Found a dealer who has Felsina, $25 is a better price. Thanks to all. I've never had a Vin Santo and look forward to it.
