OT? Hell no, you'll be obsessively looking for which regions did well in 2004.
Congratulations and best wishes to you, Jean, and Andrew (Andy? Drew? Walt?). We'll toast you tonight!

Mazel Tov, boychick, you need a stiff drink may I suggest a 1970 D'Yquem with a 1975 Roderer Crystal Rose chaser.
Great news Mark, and congrats to both of you. Typical of a Lipton to choose to be born at harvest time...

Excellent news Mark! Best wishes to Jean, and a sigh of relief from all! :)
I recommend old scotch whisky for the 3 of you, Andrew's after suitable processing of course! :)

Congratulations to the three of you! Now, tell us what wine are you going to lay down of a time, 21, or so, years in the future? One from this harvest, I hope?

Congratulations! To stay OT, is this bud a clone or an offshot from a true stock, with all of the varietal character? Probably a heavy drinker already, I'd guess from earlier experiences with others of that sort. :-) Anders

MANY Congrats. Especially to the father. Let'sa face it, having babies comes naturally to mothers.
Off Topic - Never!!!
Cause for great celebration!!!
Heartiest antipodean congratulations to you; Jean; oh yes - grandmother and "godmother" in Ca.
I can feel a glass of bubbles coming on!
Hey, *congratulations*! :^D
You can mail me my cigar. ;^)
Mother and child are both doing well; father is
=>8^0 You mean _you_ did the giving birth part? I thought the movie "Junior" was fiction!?

Wonderful!
All the best to Jean, yourself, and Andrew Walter!

Congratulations Mark.
The mother and baby may bear the brunt of the physical stress off child birth, but don't underestimate the psychological stress placed on the father. Everything from "Why did the obstetrician just say oops" to "How am I going to afford Harvard Law for this kid".
Andy
Congratulations!
I just heard from one of the vintners I work with in the Wachau region of Austria that the 2004 looks to be a banner year. Every year there are a number of smaller grapes on each bunch. These smaller grapes add a bit of sweetness to the wine which greatly improves the quality & potential (as it was explained to me). For reasons unknown (again, as I was told) there are a greater number of these little grapes on each bunch.
Funny thing: the latest issue of Wine Spectator has an editorial about building the "birth year cellar"

Congrats!, it never hurts to have another virgo on the planet ;)
toasting with a Cortes de Cima 2000,

Hey, congrats, old man! :) Is this your first? Good thing he wasn't born last year: you wouldn't really want to be cellaring those low-acid, hot-year 2003's until he reaches 21 years of age, would you?!
Many years!
