Decanter
I also like "Decanter".....
I have a flyer for Hugh Johnson's "The World of Fine Wine"..... While I've never read it, I am curious to have a look.....
Take a look at their website then, where they have quite a few articles to download
No Wine Spectator readers?
I second the reccomendation for The World of Fine Wine. It is costly and cheap at the same time. Cellar Tracker users (I am a paying Cellar Tracker member) got a nice discount a few months ago which I don't know if it is yet available.
I have also seen some excerpts from John Gilman and I really like the comprehensive winery comments.

Welcome back
Italian wines suck YM
Blast from the past... !
Wine Advocate, not for all articles or authors (IMHO constantly overrated wines from Spain and Latin America in reports by Dr. Jay Miller), but you will always find interesting selections among the "values" selected by Robert Parker. I know that this guy is too influential in the eyes of many, but when it comes to judging young Bordeaux, "he screws it up less often than the other wine writers", as a leading Bordelais wine producer told me.
I have not read Decanter for some time. About a decade ago, a had a subscription of this magazine and I was always intrigued by the fact that, very frequently, you could find a full page advertisement for a wine or an estate that got four stars or a "higly recommanded" note on the next few pages... Hmmm? Did they pay for the ad to show how thankful they were for the recommandation or... was there no connection at all?

I agree. IMHO, Jay Miller overrates every wine he tastes for about 5 points. And his drinking windows are way too optimistic. Most of the spanish and portuguese wines he says will drink well in ten years will probably be dead in five years.
OTOH, Antonio Galloni is usually an underscorer (for about 2-3 points IMHO).
My favorite taster from the enlarged WA tasters panel is David Schildknecht.
best from Spain.
