Wines from Wash State?

Don't know much about the Washington Wines location but Argyle Bruts are commonly sold in northern NJ. Why do I know that ? My aunt lives in Philly and has to drive down to a store in NJ to get hers. I don't know the name of the wine store but could find out if needed.

L'Ecole, Pepperbride, Woodward Canyon were exceptional. Better then the best of California to my taste. Meaning better than Matanzas Creek.

Also, their Merlot style had tannins that were present, yet intergrated enought to be smooth, flavorful. Blind folded other than red fruits that were the dominent flavors...they would be hard to tell a Merlot from a Cab...thats how good they were.

Also Forgeron was the best example of a Red Zin I have had in years and I attend the Rosenblum annual party for 3 years in a row.

I presume you're taling about Argyle from Oregon... Have you tried calling them or stopping by their site? You can purchase their wine direct from them -- thanks to the recent direct-to-consumer laws passed in New York -- and then can express ship to you.

As for Washington Merlots, you might try Maryhill. While their site says they do not ship to NY, they may have an outlet through a local distributor where you could get your hands on some.

Recently I was in Washington State visiting wineries from Walla Walla area.

The wines you mention are nice but are the larger corporate wineries. Walla Walla had some of the nicest wines I have had domestic including Napa.

Chateau St. Michele has Col Solare which is a reserve type wine that is a partnership with Antonori of Italy. Bordeaux style and excellent stuff. There are even better but the really good stuff from Pepper Bridge, Woodward Canyon, etc are not likely distributed on east coast.
