Would you believe.... Wine in a can?

And from Niebaum-Coppola at that! If memory serves, wine has been available in cans in Japan for some time.... but this appears to be new in the US.

Sorry if this posts as more than just the link, but this was too much to pass up.

I suppose, from the posts I've seen recently, I should have stated that I have no relationship with or interest in Niebaum-Coppola. ;o) I am CERTAINLY not suggesting that anyone purchase this product.....though I'm sure all those Red Bull fans are prime targets and will probably be into it.

In Australia there was a brief appearance last year of "wine in a juice box" - yep, in one of those one litre cardboard brik-pack things more commonly used for juices. They called it "Silver Bullet", and it came in "red" and "white" (!!)

It vanished from shelves within months, never to be seen again.

There was talk here of wine-in-a-can as well, and I do believe one company is producing it or plans to, but I've never seen it at retail...

I think that this would take the biscuit in the debate over whether plastic corks taint the wine! I mean - tins!!???

Surely Stowells of Chelsea (leading exponents of the UK bag-in-box - aargh!) have tried this at some stage?

You'll have to explain that one.
